Since the 1970s, our church has called Wrightwood, California home. While our name* and meeting location have changed a few times, our focus remains constant - Jesus Christ and his death and resurrection.

*Christ’s Church of the Canyon has been previously known as First Baptist Church of Wrightwood and Sunrise Wrightwood.

Our Mission

Our mission is to worship, learn, serve, fellowship, and make disciples for His glory. Together we make a Church body wholly focused on Him (see 1 Corinthians 12). While our mission is absolutely to make disciples worldwide, we are particularly called to serve and make disciples in our beautiful hometown of Wrightwood, California.

Our Pastor

Dr. Wayne Robbins has pastored Christ’s Church of the Canyon for over 14 years. Pastor Wayne grew up in Cucamonga and has been in full-time ministry for over 40 years, including time pastoring both locally (southern California) and in Oregon. Pastor Wayne and his wife of 35 years, Noe’l have 3 grown children. Their two sons and their wives live in southern California and their daughter and son-in-law and 4 not-so-grown grandchildren live in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Pastor Wayne is a graduate of Talbot Seminary (Biola University) where he earned his master’s degree as well as earning his Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate School.
